At its core this social network is a media company targeting international luxury brand advertisers seeking to attract valuable trendsetters and tastemakers. We seek a Flash Designer / Web Developer with a solid understanding of modern web-based technologies, cross-browser development on multiple platforms and a good eye for user interface design. The position allows for the development of unique and interesting content, micro websites, integrated ad-based solutions and other compelling applications for premier luxury brands and advertisers.  The candidate should be comfortable designing and developing rich, interactive features in Flash as well as troubleshooting issues with Flash assets from outside agencies.  The role will require an independent, proactive attitude in order to conceive and refine creative solutions that satisfy the demands of world-class clients and meet evolving business needs.You will work with a highly experienced team of designers and developers, helping to build a cutting-edge technology platform to lead our company through an exciting period of growth.  We offer competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package. This position is located in our New York office. Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop web pages, HTML email newsletters, applications, banners and other marketing creative assets using HTML, CSS, Ajax, Flash, and JavaScript
  • Collaborate with other developers, business analysts, graphic designers and a project management team
Experience with the following:
  • Strong HTML design & coding, with emphasis on semantic markup
  • JavaScript 1.0 and above, including facility with Ajax techniques
  • Flash 8 or above (including a working knowledge of ActionScript 2.0 or 3.0)
  • Photoshop CS or above
  • Illustrator CS or above
  • Dreamweaver 8 or above
  • Experience with Flash XML
  • User Interface design experience
  • Understanding of email best practices and oddities with different email clients
  • Superior attention to detail
  • Professional demeanor and strong work ethic
  • Time-management and work prioritizing skills
Strong pluses include:
  • Familiarity with Javascript libraries such as YUI, Prototype, Scriptaculous, jQuery, etc.
  • Programming experience with PHP and/or Ruby-on-Rails
  • Database experience with MySQL and/or PostgreSQL
