<table class="MsoNormalTable"><tbody><tr><td width="165">Job Title: </td><td width="537">Lead Web Technologist</td></tr><tr><td width="165">Job Location: </td><td width="537">Pittsburgh ,PA , 15122</td></tr><tr><td width="165">Job Type: </td><td width="537">Full Time Employee</td></tr><tr><td width="165">Job Industry: </td><td width="537">Research & Development</td></tr><tr><td width="165">Division:</td><td width="537">IT</td></tr><tr><td width="165">Please note:</td><td width="537">·         Relocation assistance is provided by the client·         Must be able to obtain US Security Clearance</td></tr></tbody></table> DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:·         Manages technology projects and activities directly supporting the technical infrastructure for external web presence. ·         Also manages processes to efficiently maintain and expand the site's capabilities in accordance with industry standards, professional best practices, budgetary constraints, Web Communications Group (WCG) vision, IST and OEA goals, and broad corporate objectives. ·         Requires a strong understanding of current and evolving web technologies, good management and group leadership skills and broad technical skills. ·         This person will lead a small group of web developers and web technical staff to maintain current web capabilities and incrementally improve the web infrastructure, web processes and core capabilities required to support the Web Communications Group. ·         This position demands an ability to collect and translate business requirements across departmental boundaries while providing close operational support and objective technical assistance to the WCG. ·         Requires experience with relationship management, project coordination, budget planning and resource management for the effective provisioning of web services.  SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS: The following will include but may not be limited to the following: ·         Responsible for the development of project plans and overall execution of multiple web projects to maintain and enhance external web presence. ·         Oversees the development of external web technology strategy in support of the Office of External Affairs (OEA) and the OEA Web Communications Group's vision and operational approach. ·         Bridges the communications gap between creative and technological workforces. Facilitates communication across areas to ensure efficient decision- making and workflow. ·         Administers and maintains industry-specific systems for content management, permission marketing and quality assurance. ·         Engineers customized solutions for specific challenges, working within budgetary, technological, and organizational constraints. ·         Continuously examines emerging developments in web technologies, authoring standards, and industry best practices to advise OEA/WCG as appropriate in evolving processes and systems. Researches, evaluates and selects Internet- related software packages, for both server and desktop environments, to support OEA/WCG business goals and work habits. ·         Participates in group brainstorming exercises and discussion on topics such as search engine optimization, metadata, accessibility and other "Semantic Web" issues affecting how continuously enhance our position relative to the Web as a whole.  EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: ·         Bachelor's degree from an accredited degree granting college or university. Additional consideration given for advanced degrees (MS) in related fields.  SPECIFIC TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIRED: ·         <u>Must have prior experience in supervisory or leadership role</u> for technology and infrastructure support of a medium to large corporate web site. ·         Must possess an excellent understanding of web technology, web development processes and operational support for a corporate web presence. ·         Expert-level knowledge of standards-based Web authoring and related issues, including <u>(X)HTML, cascading style sheets, server-side includes, the W3C DOM, modular page templates, database-driven site design and SEO. </u>·         Advanced knowledge of CMS packages, web server administration, and other Internet technologies. ·         Deep understanding of publishing technology (esp. PDF issues) information architecture, and usability required. ·         Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills. Public speaking ability a bonus. ·         <u>Related experience required: 6-10 years </u> ·         <u>Security Clearance: Able to obtain U.S. government security clearance.
