Senior Project Manager/Coordinator

Description:
Our client is seeking a Senior Project Manager / Coordinator that plans, directs and monitors activities for multiple software development projects. Their process methodology is based upon OpenUp, an agile process stemming from RUP. The candidate will work closely with the software architects assigned to projects, helping to manage iterations and ensure on time delivery. Candidate will be responsible for working with all members of the development team, including QA, BA, developers, and other stakeholders, facilitating clear communication and removing obstacles that arise in the projects.
Responsibilities:
- Formulates and defines technical scope and objectives of projects
- Ensure that technical projects are delivered on time by managing the project schedule, mitigating risks as they arise and escalating issues as appropriate
- Responsible for combining successful software development process experience with effective collaboration, facilitation, leadership, and coaching
- Responsible for guiding the day-to-day process of development activities including leading and running planning sessions with the Development team and stakeholders, conducting review meetings, collecting and reporting progress metrics on a regular basis, and facilitating interaction between developers and stakeholders.
- Communicates project status to management and stakeholders.
Required Experience:
- 5 years experience leading commercial software development projects
- Experience in all aspects of software development life cycles
- Experience working with Use Cases for requirement analysis and documentation
- Strong understanding of the agile software development process
- Scrum master certification a plus
- Experience with Jira issue tracking a plus
- Ability to perform requirements definition and analysis, and to define and develop functional/technical specifications
- Experience managing .NET projects
- Ability to participate in development of internal standards
- Excellent organizational, communication, coordination, and problem solving skills
- Bachelor Degree, with a technology or business emphasis
- Formal project management training and/or certification preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio and Word
- Self-motivated, flexible and ability to multi-task and handle concurrent projects
